It was where he found himself now after yet another bout, and he picked himself up, gritting his teeth against the pain of new sores. The teacher congratulated him for lasting as long as he had, and indicated that he give way so that another pair could practice. He had had ten minutes, if that. He wasn’t going to get anywhere fast if it continued like this. He spent half his time watching and observing instead of doing. What he needed was some private lessons; a chance to have it focused purely on him. He had heard that there were Aiel at the Tower. He’d never seen one before -they weren’t the norm in Altara. You didn’t exactly find them walking around on the streets - but he had most definitely heard of them. They were supposedly some of the best fighters in the Westlands. He needed the best if he was going to get anywhere anytime soon.
Decision made, he slipped away from his class, doubting very much that he would be missed, and headed out further into the training yards. It didn’t take him long to find his quarry, and he approached, not pausing, not slowing, not giving himself any chance to change his mind. He knew if he took a moment to really think about it, he would back out.
“I heard you were good at dancing,” he said, approaching the man – Terric, his name was, from what he had heard. “I’d like you to teach me.”
No hellos, no greetings – just straight to the point.
