Fire? In the Library?? (Carra!)

Amairwyn rubbed her eyes as she perused yet another manuscript. It was a treatise on battle tactics and strategy in the Borderlands, an unusual topic for a Brown to study, but one she had developed an interest in. Her time at the Citadel had shown her the need for such things, and so she had added battle strategy to her list of pet subjects once she had returned to the Tower. Browns did study anything and everything, after all. That had been several years ago, and she had amassed a fair bit of knowledge about strategy by this time.
It was growing late, but like most Browns, she didn't pay much attention to the time. as thehead of the Brown, her quarters were near the library, and so she didn't have far to go once she did decide to go to bed. Rubbing her eyes again, she felt them cross. Well, she decided at that, maybe it is time for me to go to bed. I can finish this in the- she broke off mid thought, head coming up sharply. Whatever sleepiness she had had quickly vanished.
She could smell smoke. And someone rummaging about in the main part of the library. It was far too late for anyone to be in the library.
fighting the urge to swear- she had picked up a colorful phrase or two at the Citadel, but still felt awkward using them- she grabbed the ashandarei nearby and hurried from her secluded corner to where the sound and smell were coming from. She had come directly from the yards, where she had decided to take up practicing her ashanderi again, and so was still dressed in training clothes and carrying her weapon. The only evidence that she was an Aes Sedai was the Brown shawl she had looped around her waist and the serpent ring on her finger.
If it was fire, she was going to have the head of whoever was responsilbe. Amairwyn hardly had a quick temper, but setting the library on fire was a certain way to make her angry. She took her responsibilities as a Brown seriously.
