The Grey Tower

Conor Palfrey It had been a while that he had broken out his Ale Mug. It was etched with the Aes Sedai flame and was clearly marked as something from Tar Valon. He loved the Ale Mug, it was the perfect size and weight, and the story behind him having it but since arriving at Hama Valon Conor actually resisted the urge to pull it out. A certain taboo to having something from the White Tower in the Grey Tower. However, now that he had passed the survival test, it was time to break out in celebration.

Nava agreed. "For the Ale!" Conor agreed.

The Recess Hall on the third floor was challenging to sneak a keg of decent ale up. He had to employ the help of a few friends, Cody in particular, to help him. It costed a but of coin to get it but the boys were happy to pitch in to the idea since Conor's funds had been blissfully spent on cookies not too long ago. Guys had a good laugh about that one.

Happy to see that there were only a few Ji's and mostly Drin up in the Hall, Cody broke out the song of their people, "Time to party!" Conor clapped his hands in agreement and waved his Ale mug around, "I got mine!" Leaving Cody to lead the charge, since he was better with the crowd than he was. Some of the other guys started to pass around smaller cups that they had brought (Conor's was HIS special Ale Mug!).

"Who's first?!"

Pete and Ubriel were sitting in a couple of overstuffed chairs trying to teach each other to play stones. When Conor came in with his friend and a large keg, Pete's face broke into a large and portentous smile. He caught eyes with Ubriel and bounced up to head over to the growing line of men and women receiving cups of something that made them all take on the air of pleased and shared conspiracy.

Ubriel followed slowly. Taking a cup for herself, she sniffed at the dark amber liquid. It smelled like sweet bread. She sipped it. It tasted a little like sweet bread. The crusty kind she favored. She took a deeper pull from her cup. "What is this?"

Pete, who had been capering to the tune of a flute someone had begun to play, stopped dead and guffawed at her. "You don't recognize ale?"

Ubriel frowned at him and finished the remainder of her cup. "It's good."

She turned and held her cup for seconds if they were available.
