In the Infirmary (ATTN: Lex)

Soldier Lexalon Davrina,
By order of the Grey Tower, you are to report to the Infirmary this afternoon after lunch. There, you will shadow Dedicated Caddoc Svan during his duties there for the remainder of the afternoon. You are expected to assist him in these duties, and to give aid when you are capable.
After lunch Caddoc, who had received his own missive, stood waiting near the Infirmary doors. He was somber and quiet. Like the Soldier, he had barely been given more than a few hours head’s up that he was to have a trainee today. This did not please him. The Dedicated preferred it when he was left to his own devices to take care of those patients they deigned to admit he was safe to handle. There were precious few of those, at the moment. Before he had left the Tower he had been making strides towards almost being left alone here. Since his return…that freedom had disappeared. Most didn’t remember him, and those that did seemed to think this was ample ‘punishment’. For the moment, Caddoc weathered this foul treatment in silence, taking what was offered, and making certain he did the job to perfection.
That was another reason he was not pleased to have a shadow today. In at least some of the simple cased this Lexalon Davrina would be expected to Heal, and his Talent would surely be less than Caddoc’s. The Soldier’s performance would reflect upon him, dragging him down with it. Near the end of the corridor Caddoc spotted the uniform of a soldier and stood a little taller, waiting to see if this was the one he was looking for.
