Better Late Than Never (Attn: Kevin)

Leala had spent the majority of her stint as an Accepted studying history, politics, math, anything and everything that she wanted. Now, however, she was getting the feeling that her test to become Aes Sedai was close at hand. She would need to practice more in the One Power. At the very least, she was familiar with what she had heard was needed to perform weaves in Cloud Dancing. She remembered that her former roommate, Taylin, now Taylin Sedai, had a talent in Cloud Dancing. Leala did not know if she possessed that same talent, but she felt she should at least give it a try. This late in her career as an Accepted, she should have at least given it a shot before now, but at least she was trying now.

Taylin had asked that she meet her in her quarters to begin the lesson. Leala had gone to the Green Ajah's quarters, books in hand, and found her door to be locked, and no one inside. She turned away from the door and waited patiently in the hallway, her books in front of her. Every now and then, members of the Green Ajah would stop and question her, to see why she was just standing there. The Aes Sedai or Asha'man would take her at her word and leave. Mostly, though, she was ignored by servants and Warders roaming the halls. This place was much livelier than the White Ajah, where she aspired to be one day. She remembered Taylin being more of a free spirit than she was when they were novices. Light only knew when she would arrive.

Taylin all but flew from the warder's yard as she realized the time. She could still feel the amusement coming through the bond as Michael donned his shirt during her departure. She still wore a sword at her waist, not taking the time to remove it. Her hair was loose, and growing longer. She was beautiful, but already had whispers about her temper. None very blatant of course. There would be a slight difference to her beauty now, the Agelessness slowly taking hold. It was said the stronger you were in the power, the faster the onset was. Her eyes and nose seemed to hold a different kind of harsh beauty, but it was still the same woman.

Taylin didn't notice the few looks she got from other Sisters or Brothers of the Tower in her revealing cut of a green dress. She swayed when she walked, although she could glide if she so chose, but that was not her; within the Tower she was home, and would be herself. She made it to the Green Halls, where only part of these classes would be held.

Her smile for Leala was warm, as she arrived, unlocking the door and embracing saidar. Her strength since their time as Accepted had grown significantly. The Glow surrounded her for a moment as she lit the candles and dispelled a chill from the air. A fire in her sitting room roared to life. She let the power go, and embraced the girl once the door was closed. Her furniture was richly decorated and cofortable in cremes and beige with accents of deep emerald green all around.

"It is good to finally see you. I was surprised when they told me someone wanted me to teach, but this is a good surprise indeed." Her voice was warm, and somewhat deep. However as she took a place on the desk in the room, her posture had changed, as had her body language, confidence radiated off of her.

“Cloud Dancing, can be a helpful talent in more ways than one. However, to manipulate the weather, you must first understand it. I can tell you, to truly master control of the weather, is to master your mind’s grasp over the effects encircling all of the lands. The weather is all tied together, like a web. You may only alter it so much, before unforeseen or unintended catastrophe occurs." She paused to let that sink in. Flood, earthquakes, hail during harvest time.

"Unlike other weaves, this one does not stop simple because you stop weaving. Know what changes you make to the weather must ride out their course until they have returned to balance. So you must always know when to stop; for the worst of storms, not only will befall your enemy, but you as well.”

Taylin would wait to see if there were any questions, then she'd reach into the desk and pull out a piece of parchment.

"Tonight’s lesson is simple. Go to the library, research wind currents and weather patterns for Hama Valon. And name for me three ways in the Westlands where they could use the benefit of someone who could Cloud Dance, such as drought, famine, infertile lands, and flooded villages. Think of what good you could do with this talent, and report back to me your feelings on it.”
OOC:
-Research Wind Currents and Weather Patterns for the Westlands (Including Hama Valon) –Can be an understood RP, no need open a topic in Library unless you wish. Have character give an understanding.

-Name 3 ways Cloud Dancing could help the lands.

-Report back how you feel about what you have researched. Is it useless, a waste of the Power? Was it worthwhile, and noble? Explain.
