Introductions Are In Order [[attn: Taylin]]

Silas still had to get used to the fact that people expected him to be... personable, when doing his job. It wasn't that he was entirely antisocial, but he had a lot of things to catch up on, Light dammit. He would prefer to save the niceties for a more convenient time for both individuals- particularly where he himself was concerned. Things had gotten even worse with both Edric coming to live with them, and, of course, Ria's pregnancy. He didn't regret either event in the slightest (maybe a little, on Edric's part), but it did complicate matters.
Regardless, here he was, greeting the newest addition to his little family. An Aes Sedai by the name of Taylin Melandrin. From her record, she seemed mostly capable- more than enough in her Cloud Dancing capabilities, a useful advantage- but he had to admit that he'd prefer to see the woman face-to-face in order to gauge her nature, despite his massive backlog. He'd just have to catch up on other things later. And so, he sat, and waited, cursing his tendency to be early, as he awaited his appointment with Taylin Sedai.

Taylin dressed conservatively, for herself; which meant her dress was sleeveless, showing just enough of her cleavage. She'd lost the girl from Far Madding, but her taste in refined clothing hadn't changed much. Putting in two teardrop emerald earrings, she'd done a white gold necklace and a large emerald ring opposite the hand she wore her Great Serpent ring on. Her hair was done up atop her head, and held together with two cross sticks, made of steel. A weapon in an emergency.
Gathering her shawl in the crooks of her elbows she let it drape behind her slim form, closing her chamber door and putting the key into a hidden silk pocket. She glided, managing to look poised despite the militaristic walk of the men around her, and no few of the women. She glided along, bobbing her head now and again at people she was beginning to put name to faces as her time lengthened as a Sister. The man she was going to meet wasn't just any, but the Captain-General himself.
Taylin wasn't sure what to expect, but as usual was five minutes early and gave a brisk knock, awaiting a order to enter. Upon her entry the smells of her lavender soaps would follow her on the airs from the hallway and into the office. She swept out an elegant bow, before standing at ease before him, she did not take the presumption to sit.
The man was not well pressed, or shaven clean. He seemed too busy for such things, serious blue eyes looking from a face framed by dark hair. "Taylin Melandrin, Asha'man Silas Malkom. It's a pleasure to formerly meet you." Very out of character for a proper lady, she'd lean over the desk, offering to shake his hand as a sign of well-meeting. The effect would also cause her ample cleavage to become apparent. Anyone who knew much about her knew she was already actively seeking a Warder.

Silas heard the footsteps on the floor outside of his office before he heard the individual in question knock on his door. He glanced at the clock on his mantle. Hmm. She's early. Commendable.
"Come in," he called, still shuffling papers on his desk as the woman entered. And what an entrance, besides- someone clearly had a perhaps-inflated sense of their own importance. The woman practically glided into his office, bearing as regal as any noblewoman. Silas resisted the urge to roll his eyes, and reminded himself to ask Ria to slap him if he ever fell into such a state. Not that he had any right to say, but such traits as befit most of the Tower seemed ill-fitting on the Green Ajah. The woman bowed and introduced herself, confirming that she was, in fact, his expected appointment, before leaning over the desk, offering her hand.
Silas' eye twitched. He couldn't be sure- he didn't have any idea how the woman dressed normally, to be honest- but this all seemed a little... brazen. He could practically stare straight down her dress at this angle, if he cared to do such a thing. Which he did not. Was she attempting something untoward? Was that the purpose of this meeting? A little early in her career to be attempting such wanton-- wait.
Silas suppressed the urge to smile as he realized what was going on here. A newly-Raised Green, obviously, would be seeking Warders, as did most of the new additions to the fully raised. He was grateful that the situation was slightly more innocent than it seemed (only slightly- he knew what often went on between Warders and their Wards), but still felt some consternation at the forwardness of it all. It wasn't as if it was uncommon knowledge that he was married to his own Ward- clearly off the market, to anyone who'd stop to think about it. The fact that she was fishing in such waters anyway revealed either a stunning lack of care for the situation, or at the very least a lack of notice.
It seems I have my work cut out for me with this one. Eh- not the worst that I've had to deal with. Not by a long shot. He straightened himself out as best he could- he'd never be well-pressed or presentable, unfortunately, but he could at least make an effort.
"Taylin Sedai. Good to meet you, finally. And just Silas, if you wouldn't mind- I'm not the most comfortable with titles. Have a seat," he said, gesturing to the chair positioned in front of his desk, before taking a seat himself. "I'm sorry we couldn't get to this earlier. I have had many pressing matters to attend to, you understand. Regardless, here we are. So, to start, I'd like you to tell me about yourself- what you've accomplished, what you hope to accomplish in our Ajah, the like. I like to keep in touch with my subordinates and their ambitions as much as possible."

The askew look Silas gave her did not go past her recognition. However, neither did she blush in shame or embarrassment. The man couldn't know personally, but she'd actually put on one of her more formal gown to meet with him, showing far less than the silks she normally wore. Having little knowledge of the Captain General, she knew enough to know he'd married his warder, something she did not find offensive in the least. She rather admired it.
Taking the offered seat she'd cross one ankle over the other, her dress covering her legs and feet. The woman was not all pomp-and-grandeur, her temper was notable, even as a Sister, although only among the halls of the Green, within the Tower she was composed and serene. Here, however, she felt at home, capable of being herself despite judgments of her brethren. You could take the girl out of her home, but blood ran thick. She was slowly adding the members of the Green to what she'd consider blood relatives.
"You'll forgive my dress Silas, I can see it makes something in you tick in an uncomfortable way." The woman stared at the Captain General in the face without flinching. It was not a sign of disrespect in her eyes, but the opposite. In Far Madding men answered to women, and by treating him as an equal, in her own way she was giving him more standing than any man thus far in her life. "I have found a bond interest, and I am working on getting him to accept me. I chose this dress to show my curves should I see him, but I chose it also because it is somewhat conservative and you are not the one I have interest in Bonding. Nor your wife's ire if she thought I was up to such things."
"It is a bit strange to find you uncomfortable with titles. If we go to war I always pictured you the one to enforce titles and hierarchy within the military. But, I suppose we are both full of our own surprises." Taylin's voice was still warm, she was treating him as an equal as asked, she only hoped he would not hold it against her. "As far as the time it took to get a meeting, I didn't expect expedited process, you have an entire Ajah to run; which brings me to answering your next question."
The beautiful woman seemed to finally be beginning to show signs of agelessness around her eyes and temples. Her strength in the Power made the process of the Ageless face shorter than those who were weaker. She also lounged comfortably, though in no disrespectful way, she could probably look comfortable on a bed of nails.
"My accomplishments so far? I've nearly mastered my ability in Cloud Dancing, found my talent in Traveling, Battle Weaves, and Wardings. Although I suppose my 'latent' Talent of Cloud Dancing would have made its news to you before my name or appearance. It seems to have been that way through most of my work." She didn't sigh, but it would be obvious the woman was confident in her Talent and comfortable with control over it and speaking about it.
"As for what I want for the Ajah, and my place in it, I am hesitant to say. I have heard the whispers among the Halls, even outside of our Ajah, they think me power-hungry, or perhaps solely interested in accumulating skills, with no thought to why I do it or the fact my knowledge in these areas may save their lives one day if the Tower were attacked. My goals are simple to phrase but hold much weight. I'd first like to prove myself to you by being the Head of our Eyes and Ears, it will grant me no political hierarchy for the Ajah, and show that I only wish to aid."
Taylin paused, to take in Silas' reactions. Then she pressed on to finish. She did not say it in a rushed voice, but rather near a whisper, not wanting it to come out sounding like a power grab. For it was not, she simply wanted a say in how the Tower laws progressed, and a voice she'd consider reason during times of war. "I would like to be a Sitter for the Green Ajah, a representative for us in the Hall."
