Gareth Tomosan It had been a change of pace for Gareth himself when he came to the Tower and had to spend far more time with books than he had ever known before. Before coming here, he had been a blacksmith. He had learned to enjoy learning, however, especially when it came to his craft and the Ajah path that he would take. It came as no surprise that his son had inherited that and the interaction of mother and daughter made him smirk slightly now.

"Come now, Tia," he said. "How really would that be any different than it was in Duron?"

"True," Einion chuckled. "Now I'll just have more to choose from."

Riahana laughed softly, "While I am all for reading and working on your studies, Einion, promise me you will get out and enjoy some fresh air from time to time? "

Before her brother had a chance to answer, though, Tia looked from Mia, to her parents with a more serious expression, "With all the talk of whether we might have the spark or not. . .when would we know?"

Ria opted to let either her Memme or husband answer Tia's question, but she felt a bit apprehensive all of a sudden. Was she really ready for this?

Miahala Ives
With a warm smile, Mia watched the over-dinner exchange taking place and then took her turn to answer the girl's question. "It's something that could present itself at any point over the next few years, but you can also be tested for the spark. For that, you would need to see the Mistress of Novices or Master of Soldiers."

[OOC: I'm pretty sure... I'm still remembering how everything works. XD ]

Ria gave a little smirk, "Are you so eager to leave the nest, dearest one?"

Again, Tia rolled her eyes, but gave her mom a warm smile, "No...I'm just curious, more than anything. As you said, I have my entire future ahead of me, and...I have to admit, I am a bit curious as to what the Wheel holds."

Riahana looked between her two children, and then to Gareth, "Understandable, but I am not sure your father and I are quite ready for you to be quite so...grown up."

Being somewhat devious, Tia couldn't let it lie on such a serious note, "Of course...it would mean I wouldn't have to share a bedroom with Einion." She playfully stuck her tongue out at her brother.

Miahala Ives The boy returned the expression to his sister. "At least I'm not the one who snores," he retorted, drawing laughter from both grandmemme and father.

Mia turned to Riahana. "I would not be so eager to see them grow either, I wasn't with any of mine, but you may want to have them tested sooner than later, since you've such easy access to it. May well be safer than having the ability appear in an inconvenient way."

Ria snickered with her son's joke, mostly because she knew both of her children snored if tired enough, but opted not to say as much. She then looked to Mia and took a long, deep breath, "You are probably right, though I might let us all settle in a little bit longer before we harass the Mistress of Novices and/or Master of Soldiers."

Tia poked her brother, and nodded to the table, "Help me clear away the dishes? I get the feeling conversation is about to turn serious. Oh wait...you tend to like to stick around for serious conversations, huh?"

"I'm going to stick bugs in your bed while you sleep," Einion muttered quite audibly as he rose and started gathering the dishes.

Mia laughed softly. "It's clearly not so urgent as to send you running to their doors now. I would just advise not waiting too long, now that you're here."

(OOC: Man, I suck tonight. >.> )

"Thank you, children," Ria said as the twins cleared the table. She then looked to her Memme, "It is likely good advice." She looked to Gareth, "Perhaps we should have a conversation with either the Mistress of Novices or Master of Soldiers in the coming weeks, or so?"

((OOC: Hmm...I'm not so hot either. We could see about winding this one up...))

Gareth Tomosan The Asha'man was certainly not any more eager than his wife to see their children grow up, but since the twins had already done so more than he was ready for--for the past, oh, fifteen years or so--he knew that nothing on his part could change things. And he took well to Miahala's advice about wanting to avoid any...inconvenient moments. He smiled a little and nodded. "I think that's a good idea, yes."

[OOC: Perhaps we're on character overload!]

"Then it is settled, and I'm still left to wonder where the time flew?!" Ria replied.

The children had finished cleaning up the dishes and came back to take their places at the table. It had, by all accounts, been a wonderful day and evening. The Gaidar felt gratitude for the time spent with family, especially her Memme. She might not understand why Miahala Ives was back, but she was, and Ria certainly didn't want to take her time for granted.

"The evening is growing late, but I for one have enjoyed the day too much to bring it all to a close," She said, wistfully.
