The sensation of healing with the One Power was something he was starting to become used to but nothing he did could ever fully prepare himself for it. The way it flooded his body with ice and fire, snatching his breath until he thought he would pass out through lack of air was just too abnormal. And he was fairly certain the expression he pulled whenever it was done to him was quite comical too. This time, though, he couldn't bring himself to care. He was just happy that the pain vanished, even as he pitched forwards and only stopped himself from hitting the ground face first with the last of his energy. "Thank you, Miahala Sedai" he murmured once he had managed to get some air into his chest. He was vaguely aware of orders being given but he was not paying much attention. He did not have the endurance of either a Gaidin or a Warder and though he tried his best to be as good as he could be he wasn't even close. He was blinking blearily when he felt himself being pulled up and half-dragged, half-walked to the Infirmary. The woman, a J he thought, kept asking him what had happened and why but he was too tired for words. He only mumbled something vague as his arm was around her shoulders. Eventually she gave up and at the end of their journey left him in a high-backed chair. Almost died today maybe...strange...thought it would've scared me more he told himself, knowing perhaps he would be terrified tomorrow when he had slept on it. There was a bustle about him that he let fade into the background after they had checked him over and found him to be fine, if in need of food and sleep. They ordered the former and told him to stay awake. It proved too difficult, however, as his eyes closed under their own immense weight. Tomorrow he might be punished. Or questioned. Or even rewarded - though he doubted that. For now he got on with what he wanted - rest. |
