Paks took in her surroundings as she followed Ravak to the barracks. On her first passage through the foyer, she’d been a bit pre-occupied and missed the grand entrance, and great symbol on the floor. She noticed others walk by wearing light and darker grey uniforms, and saw nothing but serious looks from all they passed. She suddenly felt like a fish out of water, as she’d never taken life quite so seriously. Would she even be able to hold her own here? Did she even want to? Doubt leaked in through the tough outer shell, but Paks did what she always does. . .ignored it.
When they came to a door down a non-descript hallway which was lined by nearly identical doors along its length. She noted the number on the door, which matched the number etched on the key the Master of Training handed her. She couldn’t help but smirk when he mentioned she had a roommate, and wondered if said roommate was as serious as all of the others she saw walking through the foyer. Hopefully not. . .a girl had to have some fun, right?
Paks scanned the room and noticed what must have been her ‘side’ of the room, as it contained crisp new uniforms and bed linens. She glanced down at her clothes, and realized she’d have another day to enjoy them before dressing the part of a Drin’far’ji’.
Ravak handed her a second key, making a point to tell her he’d not tolerate it if she handed the second key to anyone for any kind of dalliance. She simply smirked, “As you say, Chief.” She then scanned the room once more, realizing she was about to be left on her own, at least for a bit. Looking back to Ravak, she shook her head, “Nah...no questions right now. I don’t know what I don’t know, so I can’t very well ask any questions, can I?”
The smirk turned to a grin as she slipped both keys in her pocket, “Thanks for showing me around. I’d say thanks for taking me in, but since neither of us had much choice, and we’re kind of stuck with each other. . .” She trailed off and shrugged. “I guess I’ll see you around, Chief.”
