Taesh shook his head as he listened to his friend. "I thought of that as well. I thought if I focused on my father, I could find where the ship was. Whatever this is, it doesn't work that way. I can't find people, but I can find places. I know that office intimately. I used to sleep in there, and hide in there. And when I crossed the line too much my father made me grip that desk while he punished me." Taesh had a rueful smile as he remembered his mother's office. The other men and women of the Star Song had a running bet on how long it would take for the young Taesh's hand print to be embedded in the wood, he was so often sent there. Yet still with tears in his eyes he would come out smiling, and in no time have everyone laughing, including his parents.
"But also I know my ship in it's entirety. But calling for an image of it is next to impossible. I tried once, I don't know if it's because of the size of the ship, but I almost fainted I was so exhausted. I think, for now, smaller spaces are what I can do. And you are right, it must be something I am familiar with. When I'm not in my room I can call it up in the mirror easy enough. But the Library? Again, it's too much, too large. I think I need more practice. But I want to make sure, I'm not doing anything too dangerous."
Any degree of channeling came with risk. The risk of an unsuccessful weave that could have dire consequences. The risk of taking too much in and being burnt out. Taesh believed that is why the training of Aes Sedai and Asha'man took so long. But using a Talent with no name and information was doubly so. The Atha'an Miere wanted some sense of security from the Indigo Aiel that continuing to practice and research with this Talent would be ok, and not unduly hazardous to his existence.

Jhanic studied te small mirror between him and the Dedicated in front of him. He wondered how this might work for him, thinking of his clan. He had been in Rhen's tent when he visited his clan after being raised to Asha'man. However, that was only once. He was not familiar with his spear-brother's tent after he had been made clan chief. Perhaps if he thought of his mother's tent. His father had woken from the dream shortly after his training in the Grey Tower had begun, he had discovered. His mother had kept her tent largely the same from his childhood. It was good that the weave did not refuse to work if a physical location could not be determined. Like the Atha'an Miere, the Aiel were a mobile people.
Taesh worried that he had not had enough practice, and that perhaps he had stumbled upon something dangerous. Jhanic could not think of anything dangerous tied to this one, but the Dedicated was right. There were weaves that were completely innocuous when woven correctly, but if something went wrong in just the right place...
Leaning back, the Master of Soldiers now studied the man in front of him. Ever sense he had met him, Jhanic had known Taesh to be a man with a free spirit who wanted to help those around him find their smile. He was also a man who wanted desperately to do the right thing. "We will find out if there is a pitfall in this weave together," he decided. "Since this is a new weave, the Indigo Ajah will all want to try it. We cannot determine everything there is to discover with this weave, having only one person study it. I will attempt the weave." He had learned long ago that part of learning a new weave was feeling it by practicing it. "Once I have felt that I have an ease with it, we may move on and examine it further."
Siezing Saidin, the Aiel wove Air and Spirit in a tight column, as he had seen and sketched. He relied more on the feeling that he had gotten while watching the weave being demonstrated than his drawing. He did glance at his sketch for reference on how tight the weave was at the beginning. He tightened the strands before sending the weaves further down toward the mirror. The flows of Air and Spirit made a net over the expanse of the small mirror. He saw the fog as he had seen with Taesh's example. He added the thread of Fire to the weave, and he saw a tent flap with a pair of shawls flanking it. His mother always hung both her greatmothers' shawls on either side of her tent. A gray for her father's mother on the left, and her mother's mother's brown shawl on the right. The tent flap was closed, the the light of day could be seen from a small crack. He concentrated, noting that the tent was lit. Where was his mother? The image shifted to show a white-haired woman in her own brown shawl draped around her shoulders. His mother chatted amiably with a younger woman, wearing a gray shawl. His mother was a Wise One who could channel just a bit. She was very proud of the fact that both her greatmothers had been Wise Ones as well.
The gold-haired woman in front of his mother blinked and looked around, scratching her head. After a moment, she laughed it off, and his mother laughed as well. Jhanic knew his mother well enough that even though she was not looking around, she could sense something going on. The shining in her eyes had turned sharp as soon as the weave showed her image.
While concentrating on the weave, Jhanic looked up at Taesh. "You know, you may have just given the Master of Soldiers a rather potent weapon," he said with a small grin.

Taesh looked relieved at Jhanic. That someone else was able to successfully complete the weave, that someone else knew what was happening was like the holes in the hull suddenly being sealed. Taesh felt better about what he had stumbled onto, and was glad that Jhanic was both a friend and also a member of the very Ajah that would be studying this. Taesh knew from personal experience the importance of knowledge of a Talent before simply using it. He had done that once before, in the Garden of the Tower. The result had ended in a Garden marred by explosive growth that then quickly died, the earned the Atha'an Miere penance from both the Master of Soldiers at the time and an Aes Sedai.
"This is why I came to you, to your Ajah. This could be a weapon in the wrong hands, or dangerous in untrained ones. I would not have it that I discovered this thing and then had it made into something that it should not. I am only glad that you did not laugh me from your office Master." The relief in the Atha'an Miere's voice was evident is both his tone and his body language as he sat down and sunk into the chair.
"What do we do next? Is there another I must convince, or will you go before me and smooth the current? I know you Jhanic Asha'man, which is why I approached you, but I do not know many of the others in your Ajah. They may not believe me as you have."

Jhanic nodded as Taesh explained his intentions. It was good that he had found this new Talent, and it was good that it worked without complications. However, the Master of Soldiers could think of many other weaves that would be dangerous in the wrong hands. The Aielman did not think that the Talent was listed as a Talent that had been lost to the Ages, but it was still incredibly versatile. While he was a member of the Indigo Ajah that had a higher rank than most, he was still not the ultimate authority on these things. "I would suggest we present your findings to the First Seeker. But first, I'd like you to write a detailed report on everything that you've learned about it. How it is made, how you think women might channel it, and possible dangers of a weave gone wrong. I will be available if you need assistance in your report, and I'll likely be doing my own research into it, a I have time."
His time was much more limited after taking on the title of Master of Soldiers. He did enjoy being so busy, however. "I can speak to the First Seeker before you present your findings to her, if you wish. However, you still must be the one to present it, and receive your due ji on finding and studying the weave." He gave Taesh an encouraging smile.

Taesh smiled at his friend, glad that the rapport that was built was still there. He was every much an Indigo, wanting reports and findings, but the Dedicated didn't think he would have been so quick to approach another member of the Indigo Ajah. Something about Jhanic put him at ease, and as excited as the Aielman was now, Taesh knew that if what he had discovered was dangerous, Jhanic would have told him so. That put the young Atha'an Miere at ease.
"I will do as you say" the dark skinned channeler responed to the Master of Soldiers. "I think I would very much like this meeting with the First Seeker, perhaps she will know more than both of us. And if not I will leave it in your well qualified hands. I recognize I ship I can't steer, and you'll here no boasting out of me to prove it otherwise. This is a sea I've never been in, I appreciate all the help that you can give me."
Taesh stood up again, preparing to make his way to his own room to rest and began the reporting that Jhanic requested. "I do not know what the ji is, but if you are referring to Dedicated Jinarin, I have had it, not worth the effort." At that the Atha'an Miere with the newly discovered Talent laughed.

Jhanic smiled and laughed as his friend joked about not understanding ji. "One of these days, I will explain ji'e'toh in a little more detail. For now, know that ji means an honor that you earn, which you have done by finding this new Talent and studying it before coming to the Indigo Ajah with it. I'm sure it will benefit many in the Grey Tower who need it. For now, write your report, and when you finish, we will both present it to Illyria Sedai."
Standing, Jhanic motioned for Taesh to do the same. "I also have some duties to attend to," he admitted. He had sentenced a rather petulant and spoiled soldier to scrubbing pots this time every day, by himself. The young man had a knack for slipping past the kitchen staff, so Jhanic made it a point to make his presence known during this time working. "When you finish your report to your satisfaction, let me know, and we will make arrangements to meet with the First Seeker. Until then, may you always find water and shade."
((OOC: And now, I shall poke the First Seeker's player.))
