She landed a hit on him, but he had a hold of her. The fact that he never lost his grin was something very scary, and it was actually starting to work it's way through her adrenaline. And with how her spin went, there was no way that she was going to be able to vault off his chest like she had planned on earlier. He took her down to the ground, and with only one hand in his grasp, she was able to shield her face, as her body landed rather forcefully against the hard packed ground of the sparring arena. Her breath whooshed out of her chest, and tried to get that back, while moving her legs, only to feel a very large weight on them. She squirmed trying to get away, but his larger frame and weight was too much for her as he caught a hold of her free hand, pulling it behind her back.

But she still tried, jerking her hands away from him, but his grip was too strong. There was no leverage to be able to roll them over so that she wasn't on her front, and she kept trying to figure out how she could get out of this. But this was a kill stance for all her attempted to get away from him. "I yield." She said, coughing at the dust that was stirring from her attempts to get away. Once he got off her, she rolled over onto her back and coughed to clear her lungs of the dust, and rub her wrists. "I haven't been bested like that in a long time. Thank you Garren Gaidan." She said with a grin at him, wiping sweat from her face, and dusting her front off as she stood up having caught her breath.

The moment those two simple words left her mouth, the pressure on her wrist and legs was suddenly gone. Even in his darkest days, he had always taken spars seriously, and one thing you did not do was rub it into your opponent’s face that they had yielded. He dismounted swiftly and waited for her to turn over. When she did, she’d find his hand waiting to help her up. He nodded as she dusted herself off, not bothering to do so himself just yet, but dirt had never bothered him.

“You’re welcome,” he said, his grin now close jawed instead of gaping open, looking more human. His eyes still sparkled with enjoyment, though, and he was sad to see the spar over. “You fight well.” He added, patting her on the shoulder. “I wouldn’t mind trying you again some time.” He let himself smile a little more widely as he added. “And you can drop the honoraries. Just call me Garren, yea?”

When she got up, she'd grabbed his hand to haul herself up. Had she been a deceitful person, she could have pulled him down, before pinning him down with a fan at his throat, but she was honourable. She couldn't do that to someone who had been so well fought in the spar. "Thank you Garren, that praise is well appreciated." She said with a smile, after feeling the pat on her shoulder. "If I'm allowed to drop the honorific, then please, just call me Nani. I would like for us to be friends, if that isn't too bold of me." The crowd was slowly dispersing, and a Drin brought the fans that she had been disarmed from over to her. "Thank you, I hope you learned something." The Drin nodded and smiled up at the Warders. "Yes ma'am, sir. I learned quite a bit. My friends and I," He paused and gestured back towards a group of Drin that were just waiting for him. "Would like to learn more about your fighting styles, both unarmed and dagger type weaponry. Would you consent to train us at a later date?"

Nani glanced over at Garren, before she smiled back at the Drin. "I would be more then happy to teach you what I know. Hurry onto your classes now." She said gesturing the boys off. Her violet eyes turned up to Garren, and she grinned.
