Brainstorming with the Blue

Julio, I like your thought processes though I do worry about over-power. The draw-towards-it thing feels like it might verge a bit into compulsion...

The history/recent history thing could be interesting. A WoT version of psychometry.

It is much like compulsion. But then, so is scaring someone. Anything that affects anyone's mind is like compulsion. However, many different people use things like compulsion.
I've mostly thrown ideas out, not worrying much about over poweredness. I trust y'all to censor that.

Well...to me, any weave that actually presses into action more than feeling is closer to compulsion. So a weave that draws people to something is more like action. ^_^

Is there an NPC that could be the current Head of Ajah? I'm trying to figure out how to write being raised and welcomed into the Blue. Or should I just leave it vague?

Perhaps a short list of NPC Blues for us to play with would be nice...

Presently, there is not an NPC Ajah Head that I know of...but it wouldn't be a bad idea. As a member of admin, I would be happy to play the character for anyone who needs it, but I think it can also be left vague until/unless it actually becomes a need. A list of NPCs, though, may not be a bad one. We could see if there are any Blue PSCs floating around on member bios too.

Oh, oh! Bella, I have an idea! Maybe something IC could have happened... some sort of internal turmoil... that explains the recent lessened activity of the Blue? That way it would make sense to be vague...or something......

Without making any determinations about how to handle the Head of Ajah situation, I think some internal conflict or drama could be a good way to explain the overall lessened activity.

Perhaps have the NPC HoA go missing. I would want to double check with the rest of the admin, but we could do a little mini-plot for the Blues and aspirants with that...

Yay! I think a mini-plot would be quite fun. I would like to wait until there are more fully raised brothers/sisters though. The Displaced RP has me a bit occupied.

I've had some recent ideas for recruitment and was thinking about posting something about internal officer positions. Like a post that shows which positions in the Blue Ajah are open (pretty much every position lol) and the requirements. My current (very rough) draft:

Head of Ajah (1 spot)
- Duties: outlined here http://www.grey-tower.net/Wiki/index.ph ... nformation
- Note: Currently held by Sadira (PSC) until a suitable candidate comes along

Sitters (2 spots)
- Duties: outlined here http://www.grey-tower.net/Wiki/index.ph ... nformation
- Note: One spot is currently occupied by Laela Alette (Josh)

Head of Eyes-and-Ears (1 spot)
- Duties: to assist the HoA and Sitters with their duties; to keep track of the Ajah roster and histories; to plot and manage Blue Ajah events.

Assistant to Head of Eyes-and-Ears (multiple spots)
- Duties: to assist the Head of Eyes-and-Ears with his/her duties.

My hope is that the prospect of leadership positions and responsibility would be attractive to recruits. I would also like to build something that is sustainable; aka, build leaders, support any/all ideas, etc. What do you guys think about this?

By the way... *gently nudges Julio* Are you still interested in the Blue? We could RP something if you would like to!

We only recently had an Amyrlin who had only been Aes Sedai for five years, a M'hael who had only been Asha'man for less than one, and an MoS (and then Keeper) who had only been Asha'man for a year or two. Not to mention a slew of very young Sitters. ;

Sooo...having HoA age requirements would be a little odd by comparison, and maybe a little too restraining on creativity.
