She made sure to approach the Infirmary during one of the brief periods that were supposed to be set aside for personal study - in her case, that had meant lots and lots of reading and spending increasing amounts of time in the library as she figured out what the lessons were actually about. One thing that had become abundantly clear since her arrival here was how woefully ill-prepared she had been for a life outside her village, not that she would censor the limited teaching she'd experienced. After all, that had been the life she'd planned to take up until the arrival of the woman who had changed the course and direction of her life.
Now she was left to pick up those pieces and attempt to move forwards.
The Wheel turns...
And she was learning very much in one direction for someone like her, which had its plus points and certainly encouraged her to avoid looking back and regretting the life she had and the possibilities that might have been as a result.
Betrys had learned to accept that her life would be both very different and much longer than anyone else she had known back in the village and she needed to change how she did things. Such as coming to the Infirmary.
"Hello? I's Betrys...one of the herbcraft. I mean my teacher said I's might be of some use here" she murmured, the nerves showing though as both a stutter and stumble over the phrases, not to mention missing some of the basics of introduction and manner. Betrys tended to revert to the village girl when she was placed under stress or what she might end up perceiving as stress at least.
She'd made sure her clothes were clean, or as clean as possible after a busy day and she certainly hoped her inherent keen attitude would win some points with the people who worked here. What was it like to belong to the Yellow Ajah? Everyone spoke of the Ajah like a home, a family and she wouldn't mind having that experience again in her life when the time came to choose.
