Beron
Beron chuckled when Haeden reminded him that the sword was not the only tool in a fight. He knew he still needed to work on that, but he also remembered coming close to contacting with Mongoose Strikes a Serpent .

Beron quickly settled back into position as Haeden advanced with Swallow takes Flight a move that brought him within Beron’s reach in seconds. Haeden was pressing him hard, his sword a constant testing sliver of steel. Rain in the High Wind thought Beron as he recognized the form. Keeping his feet circling, he was able to keep Haeden from penetrating too close to him. He had practiced dodging and sliding blows off with his dagger in tight confines and that knowledge helped him now. Finally he saw a slight slowing of the attack as Haeden prepared another form and Beron countered with Black Pebbles on Snow . Moving quickly, he knocked Haeden’s blade to the side and pressed into his reach. With the gap between them narrowed, Beron attacked for the ribs with his hilt. A blow with the handle of his sword would knock the breath out of Haeden, but the Gaidin twisted ever so slightly and the two of them had to separate from the other as they knocked shoulders.

Swinging swiftly into a guard stance, the two men once again crashed together their blades a series of cuts and thrusts, the speed intensifying with each parry and riposte. Beron could soon feel the rhythm of their spar falling into discord, and as he over extended a thrust, Haeden’s blade snapped down and with a searing crack he felt the training blade connect on his forearm. Beron clutched through the pain, keeping his sword hilt in his grip and with a sudden kick bought bought enough time to separate once again.

As the space between them grew once again, Haeden took another step bad and held up his hands. "Halt," he said, his voice commanding but his lips cracked in a small smile.

Once it was clear that Beron understood, the spar was ended. The Gaidin lowered his hands and the smile grew slightly. "You did well," he said. "You may want to get to the infirmary and have that arm looked at, though."

Beron
Beron breathed deeply as Haeden brought an end to their spar. He released the breath he had not realized he was holding, and kept a grip on the sword until he gratefully set it down on the rack nearby.

"Thank you Haeden Gaidin, the spar taught me a few lessons," said Beron with a chuckle and he waved his wrist at the other man. The strike was beginning to sting, and with the basic knowledge of bandages and healing he had recieved from Gareth Ashaman, he realized that it was probably going to swell considerably.

"The Infirmary will be my next stop. And I will have to remember the strength it took to keep my grip. Might come in handy if I ever have to disarm a bandit or Whitecloak," Beron finished as he took the chance to take off his jacket and let the sweaty undershirt breath. Beron knew the healers could easily deal with his arm, be it bruised muscle or something more serious, and he would remember the feeling for a long time.

With that he took his leave, thanking Haeden again and promising another spar when he had the chance to continue improving his skill. He knew Haeden had more experience, and was also not the one marching to the Infirmary; still he would have a chance to maybe see Isla and he had held his own against a Gaidin. All in all that made for a good evening to Beron's mind.
