Amyrlin on the Loose

Post by Carra » March 26th, 2015, 11:24 pm

An Ageless Look Virya could only look at her Amyrlin with a glare as Carraidhin left her with strict instructions not be be disturbed. Even the Amyrlin's maid was dismissed after a low growl and a dark look. But not even Brietta Shaene could look down at the Amyrlin Seat and tell her what she thought was proper or not. Being a ladies maid, and a highly trained one, it took no guessing that the Amyrlin Seat wished for her privacy. Complete privacy.

Once all the nosy individuals had left, Carra put a simple lock on her door that would sting should someone trying to unweave it or open it, and walked to her wardrobe. Setting her stole carefully on one of the shelves made special for it while she slept, Carra removed her formal gowns of silk and slipped into something more comfortable. Clothes she had specifically made for her while the Keeper of Chronicles so she could practice in the Yard and still dress in leathers with an overdress to learn to fight better in a skirt. They were clean and well made, but the had none of the markings of her new rank, only the colors of her Ajah. Former Ajah.

The learning of the Traveling weave had taken little time and Carra was fairly adept with Spirit and it came to her naturally, although not with any show of talent, and as she wove her gate Carra stepped through to an old memory. A memory lost to a lifetime before her name was signed into the Novice Books.

The room was bare save a dusty rug that was ages old and stained will all manner of things, a few wooden spool chairs half of them broken and piled by the fireplace for kindling, and a table that wobbled worse then the broken chairs. The loft sat higher than most, with dirt and oil stained windows and wisps of linen cloth to keep out some of the light. Even with the daylight sun high the room was filled with shadows and dust.

Carra was not alone in the room. Before her, sitting in one of the few standing chairs at the table, holding a dagger in his hand that flipped through his fingers, was an Andorian mutt with his dark hair and bright blue eyes. Dressed in a rich dark brown leather, there was muscle and confidence that bled from him in just how he sat.

"Been waiting a long time for you, Amisa." The voice smooth and alluring as she remembered. Of the two of them, he always had the charisma.

"It has been some time since our paths crossed." Carra remained where she stood without giving away concern, fear or even desire. As always, Carra was stone. "Not for the lack of trying on your part, Sean."

Sean's smile broke wide, "Ah, so you found out." Like her, his smile didn't reach his eyes, the dagger in his hands continuing its play around his fingers as if he didn't need to concentrate on it at all. Carra felt that part could be a problem but she wasn't about to give away a weakness so she stayed unconcerned. Let him play his power game.

"You did make it obvious."

"I suppose that soldier has healed up just fine."

"He maintains a scar."

"Pity, such a pretty face."

The standoff grew silent as they continued to measure each other. So used to standing in silence, Carra waited.

"You want me to stop." He said, trying to catch her off guard but failed. "You look different, with the ageless look Aramisa. Or should I say Carraidhin. A named Keeper of Chronicles, that is quite the feat for a lie."

Carra remained silent. Sean looked to show irritation behind the smile as it faltered in her lack of a reaction. Good, he did not know she was Amyrlin which mean that his information was either out of date or his spies were not very deep into the Tower.. if he was using spies at all. The Appointment to Amyrlin had been rather quiet in a way so at least that wasn't entirely surprising. That he knew her name was also not so surprising with how much time she spent in the Warders Yard, or even the rumors of the Red Ajah.

"Say something, Amisa." The warmth and humor bleeding out of his voice as it shifted yet again to something else. Carra could see the training he had put into his body to make it a weapon, but Carra spent that same time making her mind a weapon. Her emotions in check, Sean did not have that same control and it would be his mistake.

"You need to leave me and what is mine alone. We are no longer children and those promises don't hold the same meaning anymore." Carra said.

"You were never one to break a promise. It's so... unlike you. Yet you lie better then the best."

Carra could not help the quirk of her lips, "The Oaths make that challenging."

"You could have them removed." He said, which should have unsettled her but Carra was already aware that it could be an option. The price of that option however was a worse obligation then the ones she already had.

"I do not need them removed, Sean. I need you to leave me alone."

His eye's darkened. "And if I don't?"

"Do not threaten me. You know very well what danger you welcome."

"And welcome I do."

The conversation was growing uncomfortable and she was not in a position to play this game with him anymore. She couldn't fight him alone, not with an entire Tower watching her so carefully. Saidar filled her as her hands started to move to create a gateway.

"I don't want to play messy with you, I don't want to play this game with you either. I have enough on my plate to then try to feed your ego. I am done with you and whatever history we had." Carra glared at him, stone meeting heat, "I am no longer Aramisa of Cairhien. I never really was her, and I never will be again. I have passed the tests to be Aes Sedai and I have not looked back. Do not test me, because I will win."

And she stepped through the gateway, but not before she caught his last words that caused a chill down her spine.

"We shall see, Taeadra."
