Seayn felt a leaden weight settle in his stomach, a knot forming in his throat. She said she was full grown but she seemed so small and vulnerable at the moment and he did recognize the words that he had vehemently spat at her only a moment ago. Yet much of the anger and frustration had ebbed out of him by now. The arguments he were used to having were with his brother and it was hard to get underneath that man's skin. She looked angry, maybe she was trying to threaten him, although the tiny girl looked more cute than murderous.

The young Saldaean clapped his hand to the back of his neck. Remorse and guilt mixing in him as the first droplets of rain began to pitter patter against the roof. He looked at the roof, thinking about how to make amends to this tiny and hurt Accepted. His brown eyes searching the ceiling for something that just wasn't there. Seayn heard her begin to move around him but he couldn't quite find the words to respond yet. She made it around him but he reached out for her shoulder, a somber look on his face.

"I..." The Soldier was at a loss for words, not one to apologize often. He reached down for the edge of his shirt, fiddling with the bottom of it as he looked at the floor. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have reacted like that. It's not your fault that I've had problems lately but I'm new here and..." The young man turned to the side in shame, looking at a nearby window as water traced its way down the pane, the gray sky darkening more quickly now. "I'm Seayn Cheade and if you would like to drag me before the Master of Soldiers, I'll come compliantly."

He didn't move to stop her until she was already behind him, but she felt a light brush on her shoulder, making her whirl back around in fury. But what she was met with only confused her.

"I... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have reacted like that. It's not your fault that I've had problems lately but I'm new here and..." He trailed off. "I'm Seayn Cheade and if you would like to drag me before the Master of Soldiers, I'll come compliantly."

Why was it that people always said that stuff after they had already spoke their mind? He probably still thought she was weak and powerless. She didn't want to explain herself to someone who would never understand.

"I'm Avyra Moeryr." She paused. "I'm sorry I snapped at you. I wanted to see what would happen. I'm usually not so uptight; I've probably brought in more vile things than that mudslide you created." She paused. "Thought it would be fun. It wasn't."

She walked off, towards the window, standing on her toes to rest her elbows on the sill as she peered out, barely able to reach. It couldn't be comfortable. She could feel the chill of the outside air through the glass, but she didn't care. Maybe he'd be satisfied and just go away.

The young man nodded, his face sympathetic. He looked back at the mess that had followed him throughout the hall and grunted. He was apathetic towards the cleaning but this girl had obviously taken something that he had said very hard. Seayn reached up, trying to pull his hair into a more manageable mess than it had been in. He watched her go to the window, his arms mostly above his head.

The Saldaean shrugged the dirty coat back on, although he left it open. "It's a lot different being here than on the farm." He knelt down, looking at the tracked mud on the floor, wondering what the best way to clean it up would be. The young Accepted looked younger than his sister and he shouldn't have spoken the way he did but he was often careless about his actions on the heart of the moment.

Seayn stood back up, approaching Avyra although her back was to him. "I barely know how to talk to the Aes Sedai and Ashaman, let alone Accepted or Dedicated." He shook his head, unsure of what else to say. "Would you like to start over?" He asked, his tone hopeful.

"It's a lot different being here than on the farm." Of course it is. Why would it not be? She heard heavy footsteps behind her, and he spoke again. "I barely know how to talk to the Aes Sedai and Ashaman, let alone Accepted or Dedicated. Would you like to start over?"

He still didn't understand. He didn't understand how it felt to always have everyone judge you for how you looked. He didn't understand how it felt to always be looked at as a child. He didn't understand how painful it was to have to look up an everyone and have everyone look down on you. He didn't understand having height be the first thing someone new always noticed and judged by. He didn't understand needing help to get something everyone else could reach with ease. Or having to run to keep up.

Avyra sighed, pulling herself away from the window. "Sure. Why not? Can't hurt." She sighed. "I would like to start over, if its all the same to you." She straightened as much as she could, leaning up on her toes. "Avyra Moeryr, its a pleasure to meet you." She held out a small hand, reddening slightly. Why do I have to look so embarrassing?
