Oro rubbed his eyes uncomfortably in the early morning light. Another night had passed without him getting any rest. Not exactly the smartest thing to do this early in his training, but he just couldn’t help himself. His fondness for reading coupled with the ungainly amounts of knowledge that was held in the library had kept him out of bed more often than he would like to admit. Once again he found himself wandering the halls with his eyes stinging wondering if he was ever going to learn. More than one of his lessons had gone badly because he was overtired. Weaving while he was this tired was nearly impossible to him given his inexperience with the power.
He trudged along. His hickory cane making a hollow thunk sound every time it hit the ground. The sound echoed of the still mostly empty hallways as if trying to give rhythm to his thoughts. In his head he made mental lists of things he still wanted to read about, things he wanted to try, and above all else duties he had to attend to before he could allow himself to do any sort of independent study. He yawned so wide his jaw creaked which made his ears pop. If he was to accomplish anything today he would have to clear the cotton from his brain. He toyed with the idea returning to his room to splash water on his face, but his subconscious had other plans. Soon enough he found himself outside in the fresh air. Breathing deeply, the mustiness of books not far from his mind, he closed his eyes and faced the sun letting it’s early morning rays warm his old bones.
