Ravak
Ravak scratched at his beard. "...new experiences and mutual respect." The Shienaran had certainly had his share of that in recent times. It was still some little wonder he was alive. Days spent riding along the Blightborder and through the Blight, with the oppressive heat baring down on him, every little living thing in those blasted lands deadlier than the sharpest blade. Visiting one of the Grey Tower's border outposts, only to find a charnel house of Aes Sedai and Warders, struck down by a single Dreadlord. Finding a Fade in that tomb, and using everything he had to prevent himself from dying to its Thakan'dar-forged sword. A lot of new experiences, mostly unpleasant if entirely necessary.

As for respect, it was hard to have anything but respect for someone that Healed you. That Myrddraal would have claimed a draw, the cost both of their lives, had Kaia Sedai not been there on the instant of the Shadowspawn's death to save him. The same was true when it came to capturing the Dreadlord. Against anyone with the One Power, Ravak was bitterly aware that he would be as effective as a gnat. The M'Hael had made that much clear.

"Prewtez Gaidin." Rav knew him, had trained in the sword under him when he was still a Drin and Prewtez was a Ji'alantin. "He seems like a good man, definitely a fine soldier." Rav pictured d'Grayson under Betrys' command. Would he chafe under the Yellow, when he was clearly a finer match for a Green or Red? Rav drank some more of the tea. That decision has nothing to do with me. "Someone will make a Warder out of him, of that I have little doubt."

The heat of the fire behind him was dying down a little, or the air from outside had grown colder. He twisted his chair back and grabbed hold of a couple of small pieces of wood. He carefully tossed them into the fire, making sure no flaming embers tumbled or sparked out. After a small moment, the cracking of wood began anew.

"You've made no decisions about a final choice," Rav repeated. "But you must have some ideas of the sort of person you'd like to be with? You could have an Accepted go around gathering herbs for you and taking away bloody bandages. It would be a little jarring, having someone in a fancloak tending to a garden, don't you think?" There was levity in his voice as he asked that, and he smiled above his cup. He could have probed further, asking about the other things one would look for in a relationship instead of a partnership, but Betrys was a Yellow, not a Green. Rav held tight to those thoughts, hidden behind a mask of good humour.

There was no doubt in her mind that any of the Gaidin would be able to become suitable Warders at the appropriate moment, with no lack of Aes Sedai in need of such it was merely a matter of time but she appreciated the sentiment behind his comment when it came to mentioning it in the first place. Even if she had little to add aside from a nod of agreement, "Which is why the choice is unlikely to be any sort of easy one, although that is at least is how it should be" Betrys replied, her conversations had become if not more guarded than certainly possessed of far more caution than had once been the case when dealing with others.

"I'd need one who can understand what it means to be a Yellow. While tending a garden or the sickroom is perhaps not as full of the risks that some would be dreaming about, so I must have someone who has the ability to see more than glory and battle in their future" it was the truth, she had her youth still - not yet marked with the touch of agelessness that would come in the future but rather the soft blush that could not be denied from her present age.

Betrys had imagined a companion, similar to what she had believed to be the case when a marriage happened but it had been an illusion and dream and not one that made any real kind of sense - not when faced with the real world.

Now though Betrys would settle for a friendship with someone who could understand her and the sort of burden that would rest upon her shoulder "...which makes it harder. I would study and learn, this is true but I desire more than to remain here at the Tower - there is much that can be done in travelling the lands to bring what help I can with the skills which I possess" Betrys added, not at all certain of what else might be mentioned on this subject, she had come here for help because she had no great pride to believe herself unwilling to accept the aid from others.

Ravak
Rav placed his cup down on the desk in front of himself, spreading his hands smoothly. "I can't say to whom you may be best to speak to about that. I don't know all of the Gaidin of the Yards, as much as I'd like to. But as varied as Aes Sedai and the Ajahs may be, that variety can also be found within the Warder Yards. My predecessor, Ferran Gaidin, has a wanderlust. For myself, I am quite contented to remain within the walls of Hama Valon." He rubbed at the arm of his chair fondly, a grin spreading across his face. "Plus, I'm quite taken to this chair."

Ravak scratched at his beard. "I'm not sure what other help I can offer you, Betrys Sedai. Whilst I presently report to Amayani, I am not the Gaidar Captain. And my own search for a bondmate is... Well, as I said, I'm tethered to his role and this office. Maybe a Brown will find my love for reading complementary to her studies." He shrugged. "Who knows? The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills, is it?"
OOC: I'm assuming we're wrapping up this thread?
