Hi, Hello, and How Goes It.
I'm new, obviously, so Hello!.
My name is Kenneth, but I go by KC as well. I'm really excited to be here. I found the site a few months ago, through the magic of Google and have been lurking sort of. Really more of wanting to join but knowing that I had too much work with finishing my MSW program, but now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel (May 15th is my graduating date!).
I have been reading WoT since the late 1990s. My librarian at my high school introduced me to the series after she saw how much I loved The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley (she gifted me with that book for graduation). I fell in love with the series and have been a serious fan ever since. Egwene is probably my favorite character, with Androl running a close second. Perrin is probably my least favorite character, I don't personally deal well with self-doubters. I'm currently reading the series for the fifth time with a youth book club I started called Worlds Beyond whose purpose is to introduced African American youth to the High Fantasy genre.
Personally I have always thought I was meant to be Aes Sedai, in my own head I'm like the epitome of royalty. Oddly enough though, Ursula (yes from The Little Mermaid) is one of my role models. Did I mention I am incredibly eccentric? Anyway back to Aes Sedai, I've always felt I was Blue, because I am a Social Worker who works in Public and Mental Health. I deal with the intersection of substance abuse and HIV transmission. But over time I realized I'm really more Gray. Although I am a Social Worker, I am Macro level, I don't do a lot of direct interaction, but I deal with policy creation and implementation, lobbying, etc. I can talk my way through anything, and I have always loved wordplay. So Gray suits me a lot better.
On a more mundane level I love to travel, I love animals, barring our scaled and/or more than four legged friends. I like music of all sorts, enjoy cooking, writing, reading and a little gardening. I'm not a big gamer but I do have a ps4, for like Final Fantasy or a Tales game, though I have yet to beat one, patience is not a gift I possess. I also have a bunch of Magic the Gathering cards I have been collecting over the years, but I have no idea how to play and no one to teach me. I just like the pictures and little blurbs on some of them. I live in Raleigh North Carolina, born in Kaiserslautern, Germany and I work in Durham, NC. I'm an 80's baby Capricorn and that's about it I think.

Welcome to the site, KC.
Feel free to join us in our Discord channel whenever you like. There's always someone in there, thanks to timezone differences and the mobile app.
Also, if you have any questions about the site, that's a great place to ask.
Also, reading through your character, he looks fascinating. If you need another saidin-channeling initiate to interact with, just shoot me a PM.

Re: Hi, Hello, and How Goes It.
Level 2 Magic: the Gathering Judge here. I would advise playing either the free-to-play (pay-to-win) Magic Duels, which was updated a day or two ago with the latest paper Magic release, or the older (but much superior in my opinion) Duels of the Planeswalkers games (2013 is the best, imo). Any of them will help you get to grips with the essentials of playing Magic, and they are good fun too.Kenneth wrote:I also have a bunch of Magic the Gathering cards I have been collecting over the years, but I have no idea how to play and no one to teach me.
You can also find a list of physical stores to go play Magic here: LINK. If you can find somewhere running Friday Night Magic (doesn't actually have to be on a Friday, in spite of the name), that's a good place to start. It's very much the introductory way into the hobby. Also, in spite of the fact I'm a Brit, I have heard very good things about Atomic Empire in Durham, NC.
Now that I've done my community outreach or whatever, welcome to the Grey Tower! If you haven't already, I highly recommend you come join us in our Discord chatroom. We are a friendly bunch. Also, you may be interested in the Introductory Class that I run, as a easy way into things here at the Grey Tower.
Look forward to writing with you in the future!

Re: Hi, Hello, and How Goes It.
Welcome to the Tower!
I briefly lived in Durham, NC, though preferred to escape the city for the mountains.
I write for Riahana Ferria, Mistress of Arms and Warder to Gareth Tomosan (her husband, written by Bella).
I also write for Ria's daughter, Tia, an accepted.
Finally, I am also responsible for Paks Liard who is a drin'far'ji and typically up to something.
If you are curious and want to rp with any of my characters, just send me a pm!
