Ravak
The Shienaran grimaced as his eyes stared through the wall, towards where the Weaponry Hall once stood. "There was an incident with one of the soldiers, an Amadician. He took it upon himself to blow a hole in the side of the Weaponry Hall, and severely injure one of the novices in the process." Rav twisted the ring on his shorn finger. "The novice survived without lasting harm, as did the soldier." From the tone of his voice, Rav made it quite clear he wished it was the soldier who had almost died.

"That shan't happen again; no need to worry. As for weapons, there are practice blades made from wooden lathes, or other materials. I don't allow anyone to use live steel until they are suitably trained, or if there is no other option. And always under the supervision of at least a Ji, if it has to happen. When you need better knives, I'll have some delivered from the forges for you. Unless there's any here." The Gaidin gestured to the overstuffed hall. "Somewhere..."

Rav led Avram back out into the yards. "Let's show you to your room. You shall be quartered with another Drin'far'ji, a man called Danos al'Sheen. Andoran. It is your joint responsibility to maintain your room, its furnishings and its appearance. Once you're settled in, if you have any questions, you can seek me out, or you can ask another Gaidin or Gaidar if they aren't already occupied with some task."

They entered the foyer with its huge Flame and Fang mosaic. "You will hear a bell each hour of the day, denoting a change in duties. You have this day and the next to yourself, to get orientated, and so you can sign up for various classes. If you need a mentor, you can seek one yourself or I can assign you; the latter is usually best. Otherwise, you'll learn the schedule quickly enough." Instead of returning up the staircase to the first floor, Ravak led the Drin through to the western halls.

Ravak related Avram with the list of rules and requirements expected of Drin'far'ji. No bonding, no relationships, no disrespect, no undue respect... It was a long list. Sufficiently long enough to lead them to Avram and Danos' door. Producing a key, Rav unlocked the door and pushed it wide open. Inside were two beds. Several stacks of folded linens, uniforms and towelling had been left on one of the beds, with a good sized chest at the foot of it, and a singular desk and chair set in between. "Enjoy the solitude whilst you have it. You have an hour or two before your roommate may appear." The Master of Training produced a second key from a pocket, and placed both into Avram's hand. "It's tradition for you to have two sets of keys. You may entrust the second to a friend or confidant. I'll tell you know, don't think I shall tolerate it if you give your second key to a woman. As I stated before, whilst the Warder Yards caters to both men and women, there will be no distracting relationships. They don't work out." That last was from personal experience, but he let none of that regret come through in his tone. "I will say this, however, which may seem like a contradiction. Seek out friends amongst the novices and the soldiers, the Accepted and Dedicated. One day you may bond, and any one of those channellers could be your bondmate. It's a wise idea to get to know them sooner rather than later."

Ravak took a step back, so that Avram had access into his new room. "Do you have any further questions, before I leave you to it?"

Avram
It was reassuring to know that the situation had been handled, but Avram wasn't entirely convinced that something that had happened before couldn't happen again. He also took note of the ring and, more importantly, the finger underneath it. The rest of the information he absorbed without comment, with one exception. "I would certainly appreciate a mentor Master Darrow. Whoever you think would be best." He was focused enough on absorbing the information being given that he said it almost absently. The roommate wasn't exactly a surprise, but he had hoped not to have to deal with that.

"Do you have any further questions, before I leave you to it?"

Avram looked back at the man and smiled slightly. "No Ravak Gaidin. Thank you." He bowed slightly as the door closed.

The room was sparse, with only the necessities. There were some articles neatly on one chest, denoting the choice Danos had made. Avram placed his small bag, all the possessions he had left, on the other bed and reached into his shirt to pull out a small, slightly battered notebook and took it to the desk. He found a quill and ink and began to write.

Ravak Darrow Gaidin, Master of Training. Gruff but willing to entertain questions. Missing last joint on his right hand ring finger...
