The storm of emotions Dax felt could not possibly be contained within his body. He yearned for a fight- not the stripped down stiff formality of a spar, but rather the no holds barred violence of the street. Instead, he unleashed his anger on the furniture in his room as he packed his belongings for the trip before him. Katrie was ignoring him; he could feel her in his head, uncomfortable disinterest rolling along the bond, followed by a firm rebuff when she recognized his presence. How does she do it?
His body and life belonged to the Tower, his mind belonged to Aikaterine bloody Riatin. He had no more say in his future than a recalcitrant child. The temptation to go to Tear with Betrys and simply vanish crossed his mind more than once in the quarter hour it took for him to collect himself and walk to the Traveling Yard. Maybe he could handle a presence in his head if he had freedom to do as he wished with the rest of his existence.
To his grudging pleasure, the Drin’far’ji he had sent to fetch his horse had already arrived, along with a stablehand and a beast he assumed belonged to Betrys. Of the Yellow herself, there was no sign.
The Aes Sedai arrived as he strapped his saddlebags shut, and his first impression was that she was, indeed, quite young. He pretended not to notice her for a moment as he fiddled with the straps, his mind calculating. Then he stepped around his horse and approached her, bowing respectfully. “Dakson Torellion, at your service Aes Sedai,” he said with a smile, meeting her gray eyes with his blue. “I hear we are going to Tear?”

Re: Taking Care of a Few Sniffles [Attn: Betrys]

It was a good thing she'd decided to take those lessons in horsemanship.
Betrys hadn't known what her life would be like as an Aes Sedai but she had known that it wouldn't always be about what her wishes were or the preference she might have. Such as now. Visiting Tear was never going to be about relaxing or taking in the scenery. Instead it was all work, which suited Betrys just fine. she needed the distraction from her own internal monologue.
"Cause yer mistress be a daftie" she murmured, patting the side of Advent's neck before she led the animal out. Betrys always took additional time to make sure that everything was fitted properly and that her saddlebags were properly balanced. In addition she had packed a large and fairly weighty bag of herbs and bottles, this was a mission of relevant mercy and Betrys wanted to be prepared. While she had learned a lot in respect of Healing with saidin that didn't mean that she was going to rely upon it. Especially in the case of an illness such as the one which had been described instead she would use the fruits of the earth alongside her other knowledge - hopefully it would be enough.
As she arrived on the scene Betrys allowed herself a touch of disappointment. She had enjoyed the journey with Prew...even if it hadn't all gone exactly the way she had wanted or imagined but at the same time, it had been good. Still, he was not her Warder and having one assigned was her only course of action. There would be no way that leaving without one was a sound or sensible option "Well met Dakson Torellion, yes, we are going to Tear - have your been there before?" she asked warmly "I am Betrys Sedai but under the circumstances Betrys is fine" she added, and moved to mount her horse with all the signs of being well-practised and familiar with the animal and how to handle herself upon it.

Dax
Dax blinked at the rapid-fire introduction, sorting through what the Yellow had said. Odd. He had yet to meet an Aes Sedai who did not insist on their title, and he did not know if he preferred this one to the other sort. What tricks does she have up her sleeve? Her face did not see the deceitful sort, but…Aes Sedai were Aes Sedai.
Once mounted, he looked over at her with a half grin. “To answer your question, m’lady, I was born in Tear,” he said. “I lived there until I decided to join a caravan to see the world when I was fifteen.” It wasn’t entirely the truth, but….thankfully, he did not have to abide by any kind of power-wrought Oath. No one at this Tower or any other needed to know the real reasons he had left his home city.
“We will need to be careful in the Maule,” he added, but cut off as Katrie’s emotions surged, a trickle of embarrassment mixed with annoyance. He shook his head slightly, before he continued. “It’s a dangerous place, and the people there are not fond of Aes Sedai. I would keep your title and your ring well hidden….Betrys. I will do my best, but even Gaidin can only fight so many at once.”
He turned to look at the Traveling Yards. “I was told you are going there to assist with an illness,” he said. “Is there anything I should know?”

It might be far more speedy than he would be normally be accustomed to but they weren't really operating with time on their side. Any illness had the potential to become so much more serious and deadly if it was left to spread unchecked or untreated. That was why even though Betrys knew about the risks associated with Tear - even if that the moment it was more about book-learning and listening to the stories that other people had told her about when she'd asked as well as during the volunteering process. She wasn't sure how much trouble they could be in if her cover was blown but Betrys did know how much damage would be the outcome if no-one helped with this outbreak.
"I'd prefer tae avoid fighting at all. But yer knowledge of the place will come in useful...very much given the discord between Tear folk and Aes Sedai...." Betrys really wasn't sure that she understand exactly why they disliked members of her Sisterhood but there was no point in attempting to be the harbinger of a new change but that didn't mean she wouldn't help them.
That would go against everything she believed in "We'll need tae hae a reason for me to be there...any suggestions?" her accent could be managed but not all the time, Betrys tended to forget but she was unassuming enough to escape much notice, even with rather Andorish features - she had packed clothes that were ordinary, well-made but not linked to Aes Sedai and currently wore suitable riding clothing with her shawl packed away and hidden, along with her ring. While she would have left them behind it had felt wrong to completely leave those marks of who she was. After all Betrys wasn't ashamed of them.
"At the moment then information about the illness is mixed, we've nae been able to manage a clear identification but we've narrowed it down. I've the means to treat the worst of it and train others tae handle the rest...but it should be relatively straightforward, I hope. If you experience any sickness while we are there, tell me" she added and smiled.
