The Grey Tower's herb garden was in full bloom. Or, at least, some of it was in bloom...several parts didn't bloom at all, but they were still green and vibrant.
If Isla stopped to think it through, she would have to say that this was among her most favorite places to be in the Tower. It was naturally green and alive in the summer and spring, and plantweaving kept it vibrant in the autumn and winter. Snow never touched this place, thanks to the One Power, and it was constantly at the ready for harvesting so the Tower's infirmary never ran out of an important herb.
This was also a place that gave her much comfort, like in these cold days and nights while Beron was away in Saldaea. She missed him terribly, but she knew that he had to go. There were things needing attendance, and she planned to remain in the Tower until his return. Happily, she had this garden to visit, and her tasks in the infirmary to keep her busy. Admittedly, she had taken on a few extra shifts to cover the absence.
As she stepped through the door and into the gardens that day, she saw another. It only took her a moment to recognize who it was and she had to smile. "Good day, Maever Asha'man," she said with a warm smile.
