Miahala groaned quietly as she shut the door to her quarters and leaned back against it.
It had been a particularly long, full day as Mistress of Novices for the Grey Tower and she was glad it was over. Iain had had a particularly difficult night, and thus so had Mia. While she knew the weave of refreshing, there just seemed to be something about it that was ineffective for Mother Tired (tm).
Sadira looked up from the floor where she had been sitting with a ten-month-old Iain. Ravak had been out for much of the day as well, and so Sadira had taken a turn at child-watching.
"Aa-aa!" Iain squealed, throwing up his chubby little arms with the incoherent demand to see his mama. Despite the sleep frustrations, it still brought a smile to her face and Mia crossed the room to grant his request. As she lifted her growing baby boy to her hip, Sadie also got up and smiled.
"You'll be happy to know that a nap was attained," she said, "so he's less grumpy than he was when I came."
"Good," Mia said, smiling at the grown child while holding the other. "Conversely, it means he'll sleep better tonight. They say you can be too tired to sleep, but no one proves that better than an infant."
Sadira chuckled. "I'll take your word for that, Mother," she said. "Alrim is waiting on me for dinner." After a kiss to the cheek of both parent and half-sibling, she made her way out while the Green moved herself and Iain to the sofa. The woman dropped herself down with such bounce that made Iain giggle.
"All this fuss over one little creature," she said with a smile as he flapped his arms for no apparent reason. "Soon your papa will be home and you can see if he can teach you how to fly. Your mother is alas ignorant of that."
