Though she was quite new to the Tower, Larissa had already found that some Accepted were friendlier than others. It seemed the Nyaine counted among the nice ones, and Larissa returned the Accepted's mischievous grin with great relief. Then she looked over her shoulder and, seeing no one watching her, she dropped to her hands and knees and peered under the basin.
She couldn't see anything. With a sigh, she climbed to her feet, took another piece of clothing from the pile, and began to scrub again.
"Couldn't find it," she grumbled. "Too dark."
While Nyaine continued to explain how Delving worked, Larissa tried to puzzle out how she could continue to look for the ter'angreal without being too obvious about it. She didn't want the supervising Accepted to come and take away the ring. And so she listened to Nyaine with only partial attention. Nyaine seemed quite adamant about Delving, and Larissa thought it better to remain on good terms with the Accepted. Even if she really did feel fine. She nodded.
"Oh, I suppose," she said and held out her arm. "If it won't hurt."
