((OOC: I'm not sorry for the title. *grins*))
Zeen
His features were set in disdainful boredom. He did not actually feel such, but he had quickly come to realize that wearing that particular expression discouraged others from approaching him when his reputation was not enough to dissuade. It was... odd... to be known as the out-of-control Soldier that had leveled the Weapons Hall and not as the-- He stopped, turning his mind away before he could finish that thought. It no longer mattered. He would never return to Amador.

Zeen was in no mood for company, blatantly ignoring the Dedicated that hovered nearby at Jaryd's... urging. He ran his hand through his hair, rolling his shoulders back. He exhaled slowly through his nose. He tossed the black coat that he carried with him everywhere onto the nearest fence post. It was with him at all times, as was required as part of his uniform. It did not mean that he actually had to wear the Light blasted thing.

He should be grateful, he supposed, that the M'Hael trusted him enough to channel with minimal supervision. The Amadician felt his mouth twitch. The Altaran had been the Keeper of the Archives upon their first meeting that fateful day in the Warder Yards. And I had no idea. Now the Asha'man was the Fang of Hama Valon, one of the most powerful men in the world... and for reasons that hurt Zeen's head to contemplate, was personally interested in his personal fortune and training.

The Creator certainly did have odd sense of humour.

He shook his head abruptly. He was not here to think. He was here to control saidin. He carefully disguised the cautious look he cast around. There were some Novices about, pinned beneath the watchful eyes of nearby Aes Sedai and an Accepted that seemed as if she was looking off into the distance. None of them seemed particularly interested in him. Good. He nodded inwardly, relieved. What he wanted was space and so long as they gave him such, he was more than content to be ignored.

Zeen seized a fraction of what he was able to hold, bringing the small trickle of Power to heel. He looped together flows of Earth, forming a tightly knit mat roughly the same space and span of a small rug. He directed weave into the ground, lightly 'shaking' the mat back and forth. A short-lived grin of delight came to his face as dirt fountained up, spraying up against his boots and trousers.

Tia Tomosan
The Channeling Yards had become one of Tia’s favorite haunts since becoming an Accepted. She would often go to the Yards to practice Warding and Cloud Dancing, though Cloud Dancing seemed to be second nature to her and didn’t require much practice. Initially, she struggled to learn to control her talent, as she didn’t always realize when she’d channeled, but with help of the tutor arranged by Durent Asha’man, the control came quickly to the Accepted.

Currently, Tia was staring off in the distance, watching the sky over the mountains. Blue sky greeted those who ventured outside, but something in her bones suggested the weather was due to change. I wonder if we will get a spring storm, she thought to herself. As she became more familiar with her ability to work the weather, Tia learned the importance of balance. Anything she did locally could impact those far afield from her, and she had no desire to be the reason some small hamlet flooded, or experienced some other disaster.

Each time she worked with her ability, it seemed she was becoming more attuned to the weather patterns around her. It was, in a way, a reminder to keep balance in what she channeled. Taking a slow breath, the Accepted embraced Saidar, letting the rush of the moment bring everything around her into sharp focus. A small group of Novices were under the guidance of an Aes Sedai, and off in another corner, on his own, was a Soldier. Tia recognized him as the one who destroyed the Weapons Hall in a moment where Saidin seemed to control him rather than the other way around.

Unable to feel him channel, Tia saw the cone of soil sprout up at the man’s feet, and allowed herself a small smile. Earthsinger she thought to herself, thinking back to some of her classes where various abilities were discussed. She knew it was a talent her Memma had, and one she envied just a bit, though she wasn’t sure she’d trade it for Cloud Dancing.

Looking back towards the horizon she’d studied earlier, Tia took a deep breath before closing her eyes and letting it out slowly. Her heightened senses suggested she might be right about the spring storm. After one more deep breath, she opened her eyes and studied a small patch of ground in front of her, perhaps half way between her and the Soldier. Creating small threads of wind, Tia wound them together to create a small vortex that whipped around in large, sweeping circles. She used gestures to direct the vortex, keeping it away from the Novices, and limited to her imagined square.

Working with wind, and manipulating it gave the Accepted a thrill and joy that she couldn’t explain. Releasing the weaves of air, Tia started again, this time starting with weaves of air combined with a bit of earth. Earth was not her strongest attribute, but when working with the weather, it seemed to come more easily to her. After several brief moments, a small cloud formed in what she was using as her designated space. She smiled to herself as she then added weaves of water. After a moment, the small cloud seemed to grow heavy before it let loose the water held within.

Tia felt as if someone was watching her, and looked up from her mini-storm to find the Soldier watching her. She couldn’t help it when her smile turned to a goofy grin. She wasn’t Aes Sedai yet, so what did it matter if she showed such emotion?

Zeen
Slate grey eyes overlaid with a metallic sheen watched, fascinated, as swirling eddies of wind fueled by must have been saidar whipped around the shorter figure with banded colours along hem and cuff. Zeen allowed saidin to slip free from his grasp as he released his hold on the male half of the Source.

The vortex danced around the girl without ever touching her, the pristine white fabric covering her legs rippling in response. As the small whirlwind moved, it sucked up loose granules of dirt knocked free by his own weave, grey streaks appearing in the rapidly spinning funnel.

A small, detached part of his mind studied the girl even as his attention followed the tiny column of air; compared to the pristine white she wore, the black coat he had so readily discarded against the fence was positively flattering. Zeen grimaced faintly, unable to ignore the strange tingling sensation that prickled up and down his forearms. Light, but he still had not grown accustomed to that.

His brows lifted as the funnel of wind disappeared, a cloud forming it its place. The Amadician was unable to hide the obvious sign of his surprise even as he berated himself for it. He watched as whimsical wispy white darkened to nearly black, the cloud abruptly gaining definition and shape. Suddenly a pop of sound came - thunder? he thought, amazed - before a small torrent of rain poured down from the cloud.

It was then that the girl turned to look at him, bright green eyes looking unabashedly into his. It was too late to pretend he had not been watching, the reluctant Soldier staring almost defiantly back at her. The slight smile on her face widened into one of unreserved delight and Zeen had to duck his head to hide the way his mouth quirked up in response. He cleared his throat, more for his sake than hers, and risked another glance back towards her. She was still looking at him, and he thought he caught a hint of recognition in her expression.

He let out a soundless sigh, pale grey orbs going deliberately to look at the pool of water that had gathered in the space between himself and the girl. He hesitated a moment, his hand reaching up absently to touch the scar that ran across his forehead. He glanced over to the girl again.

The broad Amadician could not say what it was that possessed him to do so, but he pulled saidin into his grasp again, forcing it under his control. As the glory of the Light blazed into the very marrow of his bones, Zeen thrust coils of Earth into the area just outside the edges of the pool of water, manipulating the flows just beneath the surface of the ground carefully. He did not fully understand how he did so, but interlacing the Power through the ground came almost instinctively to him. He stopped when his weave was roughly the same dimensions as the pool of water. One corner of his mouth lifted as he gave a forceful little yank, his weave forcing the soil and dirt trapped between the brilliant emerald threads to shift to his will.

The surface of the water trembled violently for a moment as the ground beneath it lurched, shuddering and shaky. Liquid splashed up, churning and bubbling. The Void kept him calm even as frustration beat along the outer edges of the silence. He watched the frothing water and it slowly dawned on him. He was going about this all wrong. Correcting his error, he lessened his touch and simply began guiding the flows. He could not stop the water from seeping into the ground he controlled, but that was not his intent. Dirt and soil mixed in together with the water, forming a muddy whirlpool that spun faster and faster, the rapidly swirling edges rising a good two inches into the air before losing shape and coherency, spinning out in small fountaining sprays of mud.

Finally, the mud became too thick to move. Zeen let the first weave dissipate before looping new flows of Earth around what had once been a pool of water. He added touches of Water, pleased to see that for the most part, the mud liquified. A blast of Fire came and the ground hardened, returning to dirt and soil again, if somewhat clumped together in dried out chunks. He gave the ground between them a final little shake, the smallest tremor rattling between Soldier and Accepted before he released saidin, giving the girl across from him a tiny little bow.

Tia Tomosan
Earthsinger versus Cloud Dancer? Tia thought to herself as she watched the Soldier across from her turn her little test area into a whirlpool of mud. The vortex spun off droplets of mud that fell at her feet, though she resisted the urge to take a step back. The ground shook beneath her feet, and a moment later, what had been mud settled out as clumps of dirt and soil. Looking up from the patch of ground, she saw the man give a little bow, and didn’t attempt to hide her grin.

So it’s like that, is it? she thought to herself. In truth, Tia probably should have schooled her expression a bit more, but what she was currently doing brought the young woman great joy. She could generate wind, create rain, even bring forth lightning with such ease. As much joy as it gave her, she also understood the potential implications. For now? It was harmless fun. . .and a little bit of showing off, which was out of character for Tia, to be honest. Let any who watch dare suggest I was raised only because of who my family is, she thought.

Grin turned to smirk as she thought of what to do next and embraced Saidar once again. She had yet to grow used to the feeling of awe it brought to her, and hoped she never would. Once again, she pulled a series of delicate weaves of air together, followed by weaves of water and another one of earth to form another cloud between her and the Soldier. She let the cloud build until it was too heavy to hold on to the water within, and just as it started to rain, she spun more threads of water around it, cooling the cloud and the area around it, transforming the rain into snow.

Looking up to the man across from her, Tia continued to smirk as she pulled in another small thread of air, and guided the snowing cloud so it sat right over his head. Fluffy flakes of snow fell over him and a small circle around him until she dropped each of the weaves and let the snow, and cloud dissipate.

Zeen
Grey eyes overlaid with a metallic sheen studied the girl across from him with thinly veiled interest. She did not turn away, nor did she seem particularly offended by what he had done. She offered him a wide grin, the broad Amadician having to still his features so that the smile hinting along the corners of his lips would not show.

Another cloud appeared between them, conjured from saidar. By gradual degrees, Zeen's interest sharpened until he forgot that he was supposed to be maintaining an outward air of disdain. Rain showered down once again, abruptly turning into... something white and... He stiffened in surprise. Light, was that snow?! The Accepted's grin became a full fledged smirk and too late did he realize that he was the target of it. The cloud bobbed over to him and he found to his immediate chagrin that he did not much like this... snow.

It was wet. And heavy. And bloody cold. Some of it slipped down the open collar of his shirt, sliding down his back. His jaw flexed as he clenched his teeth together to keep from making some embarrassingly shrill sound. No, that would not do. He endured the fluffy chill assault stoically, his arms folding across his chest as he stared the girl down.

It was not until he stood in a circle of pure white that the cloud finally dissipated. Sadly, Zeen's discomfort did not leave with it. His slowly arching eyebrow spoke volumes. If anything, the Accepted's smirk grew wider. His mouth ticked upwards. He ran his hands through his hair in the attempt to dislodge what was left of the snow, brushing along his shoulders, and down his torso. Flaming Light, it was melting all over him.

When he straightened, the Soldier seized saidin, forcing the blazing inferno to his will. It was more than what he had used to form the mud vortex, but still only a fraction of what he supposedly could hold. He groped for the Void, finding it after several attempts. It was staying there that was the difficulty. Another worry some other time. For right now...

Earth was a living things in his hands, Zeen thrusting thick flows of it into the ground beneath the girl's feet. He formed a disc just beneath the surface of the dirt, Fire going to harden the area so that she would not fall through. The stray question of how he knew this bounced off the Void, the emptiness deflecting stray emotions and thoughts away from him like a shield. A bit of Water along the edges of his weave made it so that the disc of baked earth separated easily from the rest of the ground.

Slowly, deliberately, with the aid of Air, he began to spin the disc around. Zeen made sure that he rocked the disc back and forth - gently, of course - teetering it a little to the right and left so that the girl had no choice but to keep readjusting her balance as she spun along with it. She could try to get off but then there was the very good chance that she would risk falling. A smile tugged at his mouth. He was gambling on the fact that she would not wish to do anything of the sort with him watching. The wetness from the snow would dry from his hair and clothes. Any stain on that pristine white would not fade so easily.

She kept her balance throughout it all with remarkable ease. He released his weave, Water and Earth returning the ground to its natural state. When those bright green eyes swung up to him, Zeen flashed her a crooked grin that showed too many teeth, the corners of his eyes crinkling.

Tia Tomosan
Tia found herself laughing as the Soldier shook melting snow from his hair and shoulders. He gave a hint of a smile, but not much more to Tia’s antics. Was he practicing the art of schooling one’s emotions? As an accepted, perhaps she should be doing the same, but aside from time spent with family, her time at the Tower seemed as if it was always serious, without much fun. This was fun, and she intended to enjoy it.

Before Tia could do much more, she noticed the Soldier was up to something. She couldn’t tell when he seized Saidin, but the way the ground shook slightly beneath her gave it away. Slowly, the disk of earth she stood on elevated, and then rotated. She found herself laughing as she worked to keep her balance, thankful for all of the lessons she’d gotten about balance and center of gravity from learning to ride horses. Her laughter came freely as the disk settled back in its original spot, with her facing the Soldier once again. She settled her green eyes on his grey, and rewarded him with a smile of pure elation.

The Accepted embraced Saidar once again, and found herself inhaling deeply as everything came back into sharp focus. The rush she felt when she opened herself to the Source was. . .indescribable for the young woman. Sounds and colors seemed to leap out at her, and she took a moment to look back towards the mountains. Her smile waned a little as what was the hint of a storm seemed more certain now, and it wasn’t a small one. Would it head towards Hama Valon?

Pushing the moment of distraction aside, Tia looked back to the Earth Singing Soldier. He still wore a crooked grin. Tia found herself pulling together ropey weaves of Air with just a hint of earth as she created a vortex. It wasn’t very big, but it was big enough to easily center over the Soldier, which she did with a simple wave of her hand.

As the wind teased at the man’s hair, Tia gave another small gesture, and her small funnel picked the Soldier up just as gently as his disk picked her up. The Accepted was not often a mischievous type, but in a moment of uncharacteristic glee, she sent smaller tendrils of air from the Vortex inward. These smaller vortices acted as arms and fingers and gently began tickling the Soldier as he was suspended perhaps a foot above the ground. She shot him her infectious smile coupled with gleeful laughter.

Zeen
To say that Zeen was displeased at being hoisted up into the air like he was nothing more than a parcel was a gross understatement. Grey eyes were flat as they shot over to the Accepted, his hands curling into fists. By the way the girl was smiling and laughing, he had no doubt that it was she and saidar that were responsible for this floating nonsense. He found himself grudgingly impressed; that she had so easily lifted him up off the ground given his size did nothing for his ego, but it did speak of her strength with Air and the weather.

He felt some of his resolve crumble in light of the obvious joy in those green eyes. For a moment, doubt crept along the edges of his mind and he had to wonder why he was being so difficult. A sensation much like pain flared through his chest. The girl was harmless. But you are not, he reminded himself firmly. Keep her away. Keep them away. They do not know who you are, what you are. You are dangerous. Zeen jerked suddenly as the barely there sensation of unseen fingers rippled up and down his sides. Light! He inhaled sharply, jerking again, his jaw clamping shut so quickly that the loud clack of sound reverberated in his skull.

"Put. me. down."

Each syllable was formed with over exaggerated enunciation, forced out past clenched teeth. The Amadician twisted with wasted effort against the weaves he could not see that held him suspended roughly a foot over the dirt of the Channeling Yards. He struggled against the intrusive fingers, his body turning and flexing as he sought some kind of escape from being so ignominiously tickled!

The Accepted ignored him.

Finally he could endure no more, a rough breathless noise that was more rumble than laugh escaping him. It was all he could do not to cover his face with his hands in sheer embarrassment. That seemed to appease the girl, however, and mercifully those rippling fingers ceased. Zeen was lowered to the ground with the same gentle care that he had shown her. He pulled in deep breaths of air through his nose, refusing to let her see that he was winded. The muscle where jawline met neck ticked as he worked out his aching jaw.

He reacted. The broad man seized saidin, thick coils of Earth snaking beneath the ground under the Accepted's feet. Zeen made a lifting motion with his hand, pushing the dirt up, Fire, Spirit, and Air coming together every now and again to reinforce the structure. Power interwove with soil, driving higher and higher, until the girl stood on a pillar wrought from the male half of the Source, easily twenty spans in the air.

"Tell me," he began conversationally. Despite his best efforts a grin lurked on his face, tugging at the scar across his forehead. "How is the view?"

Tia’s laughter turned to a surprised gasp as she found the ground beneath her feet lurching up and up. When the dust settled, she peered over the edge, and saw the Soldier grinning up at her, “Tell me, how is the view?”

The man’s grin was infectious, and the Accepted flashed him a toothy grin of her own as she gave a nonchalant shrug, “It’s not bad, to be honest.” Standing straight again, Tia turned in place as she took in the view from her impromptu observation post. After she went full circle, she looked down towards the Soldier, “I can see the Gardens from here. You should come up and see for yourself!”

With a sneaking suspicion he wouldn’t voluntarily join her, Tia embraced Saidar once again, and pulled together weaves of air that reached down and gently wrapped around the man. With a simple, fluid motion, she pulled her rope of air upwards, lifting the Soldier off of his feet, and gently guided him to the platform he created with Saidin. Once his feet were touching dirt, she released her hold of the weave and of the Source, and found herself looking up at a man wit a similar build as her father.

The grin she wore earlier hadn’t left Tia’s lips, and her green eyes left his as she nodded in the direction of the Gardens, “As I said. . .see for yourself.” She turned so she was facing the Gardens, which placed the Soldier slightly behind and to Tia’s left. “I’m Tia. If you want to be formal about it Accepted Tia Tomosan.”

Zeen
"It’s not bad, to be honest." He watched as the girl turned full circle, a grin on her face as she cast her gaze out all around her. She straightened, and those bright green eyes pinned him in place. "I can see the Gardens from here. You should come up and see for yourself!"

Before he could open his mouth to tell her "No." Zeen found himself hauled up unceremoniously into the air for the second time in as many minutes. Bloody flaming Light. He supposed he should be grateful that the girl spared him the indignity of being tickled again. Slate grey eyes overlaid with a metallic sheen watched the Accepted warily as he was deposited on the top of the pillar next to her. Their marked differences in height had not been so obvious as they dueled across the Channeling Yards from one another, but this near, he towered over her. She did not seem fazed in the least by it as she stared up unabashedly at him.

Her chin thrust out a little, indicating somewhere off to his left. She turned towards that direction and the Amadician found himself curious. "As I said. . .see for yourself." He did not turn away from her, casting a quick look instead with a slight twist of his head. He made a contemplative noise. She had not been exaggerating; you truly could see the Gardens from where they stood.

"I’m Tia. If you want to be formal about it Accepted Tia Tomosan."

Tomosan... why did that name sound familiar? The brown-haired Soldier frowned as he tried to remember. Several moments passed before he shook his head slightly, his mind unable to explain why that name tickled at his recognition. He shifted slightly, not looking at the girl - Tia he corrected himself quickly. "Zeen," he said without preamble. "And I myself prefer a distinct lack of formality, but it is Soldier Zarius Iiro if you are keen on that sort of thing."

He pulled in saidin again, slowly lowering them to the ground. It was not easy going, the pillar trembling and shaking as he brought it down, but he took a step away from the Accepted and studied her for several long moments. He did not speak again, but he grinned outright at her finally. Earth thrummed in his hands as he blanketed the area around them with thick flows, weaving them together to form a giant mat. He pulled back and forth on the threads, the ground twenty paces all around them shifting and shivering, dirt and soil undulating like rippling waves of water. He had no reason to do so; Zeen was showing off at this point, pure and simple, but he did not care.

Tia Tomosan
Zeen from Zarius Tia quirked a brow at him and was about to ask how he got Zeen from Zarius, but before she could, the pillar they stood on started to shrink downwards. Before long, they were back at ground level, and he took a step back and looked at her. She wondered if perhaps she’d gone too far, but then he finally flashed a very big grin. Seconds later, the ground started to tremble once again, and the soil and dirt all around them appeared to act almost as a liquid.

She almost called him a show-off, but then they’d both been showing off most of the morning, hadn’t they? Returning his grin with one of her own, Tia let the mischievous side of her have full reign and embraced Saidar once again. The rush as everything came into sharp focus was almost overwhelming, and she wondered if perhaps she’d ever get used to the sensation.

Pushing the extraneous thought aside, the Accepted pulled together weaves of water and let them settle on top of the rippling soil. Soon, it wasn’t just soil and dirt that sloshed around, but mud. Small specks started to splatter up on Zeen’s pant legs, and on the skirt of her dress. How long had it been since she played in the mud? She cherished the odd mud fight she got into with Einion, when he didn’t have his head in a book.

Earth wasn’t her strength, but Tia wondered if perhaps she had enough control to pick up little bits of mud. She looked away from Zeen and focused on a spot between the two of them and pulled a bit of Earth, Air and Water to her, hoping to form a small sphere, which she managed. In her excitement, though, something went side-ways and the sphere seemed to get squeezed, squirting mud away from her. . .

. . .and directly on to Zeen, covering part of his chest and face in the dark brown goo. Tia’s eyes went wide, “Oops.” A nervous laugh came from Tia as she wondered what his reaction might be, but the nervous laugh then turned to a giggle, “Sorry...it wasn’t intentional.” Part of her wasn’t sorry at all, though, as she was having more fun than she’d had since joining the learning ranks
